Although Rubik’s was the inventor of the Rubik’s cube, that doesn’t necessarily mean he perfected the cube. Oh, my! His work is absolutely gorgeous! I’m sure it is even more beautiful in person. Also, if your Dad is there in person, chatting with people about his art, I’m sure they are intrigued to meet the artist and find more meaning in the art than just from seeing it online.

If he passes out business cards with his website link and contact information to people who see his art in person, they might be more likely to go online or email or call and ask to buy more of his art, since they have already seen it and love it.

I see there are only 2 “friends” on the “MySpace” account. You have to join groups and make friends to draw traffic to your page. Also, if he builds a Facebook account as well, when he posts art on “MySpace, he would probably have the option to cross post it to Facebook as well.

He would need to join groups and make friends with people online who like his type of work. Then, he could feature a different piece each week by posting a blog about along with the picture. This would remind people to come back and check out his work. If you have a teenager in the family who is “Facebook Savy”, they could show him how to find friends and be sure people got a notice when he posts something new.

It would be good just to chat and be friendly on Facebook and MySpace as well, because the networking is as important as the posting of the art. Be sure to have prices listed with the pieces, perhaps in a blog, so people will know what to expect, and a way for them to pay for it. People need those details.

Becoming an active part of online community is a big part of making sales online. People need to “see” you and know you’re real.

Another way to increase sales… become involved with a charitable cause and offer to donate a percent of every sale to the cause. A friend of mine who paints pet portraits gives a percentage of each sales to pet charities. In exchange, they are eager to post her link and a painting on their site. She posts notices of pet charity events, animals that need homes, etc. on her site, as well as her paintings. See how it is a “give and take” situation? She really cares about the animals, so she’s glad to promote their needs, and when pet lovers see her paintings, they want her to paint a portrait of their pet, also knowing part of the money will go to support a pet charity.

My answers:

I want a house built out of cream colored stone, maybe 2 floors (Like a ranch style (Long), but with 2 floors instead of one) that are whole floors, and then a third floor in the center of the roof. I would want a 2 story entry and living room (you know, stairs to a balcony). I would want it to just be comfortably furnished with neutral pieces in the living/dining/kitchen areas, and then show the personality in the bedrooms. I think I’d go for more english-style decor, but anything horse related!

How many horses?

Seeing as I want to own a boarding/breeding/rescue/training/lesson stable with a vet practice attached (I want to be an equine vet), I’d say 40-50 horses (not mine) depending. Obviously I’d have trainers and stable hands.

How many stalls?

Probably 60 in the boarding/lesson barn, 10 in the rescue, 10 in the breeding. I’d want my own private barn for my horses though, so maybe 6-10 stalls in that.

How many acres?

At least 50, preferably 100-500, even more if possible.

State?

Virginia, Maine, Pennsylvania, Florida, or Wyoming. I’m open to having it in any of those, but I’d like Virginia/Maine/Pennsylvania because my family lives in the Pittsburgh/Latrobe PA/Canton Ohio areas.

I would want it to have large wooded area (Like at the base of a mountain, preferably) so that you could go trail riding, but I’d also want lots of field space too (Cross Country course!)

I really want to have a stone barn (Cream again) with a gray shingled roof. I think it’d look really cool. I would want an indoor arena that was split like this: One 20×40 dressage, one standard (Or slightly larger) jumping. I would also want 2 outdoors (One sand, one grass) for jumping, and a couple of outdoor dressage arenas (One sand, one grass). I’d probably have the indoor located in the middle of the barn, and have the stalls form a ring around it, with a tack room in each outer corner of the aisles with private lockers in it. I’d also do lesson horses and tack in the front so the students don’t have to walk through all the boarder’s horses.

Balloon Candle Making Recipes

This recipe will help assist in creating one of the simplest candles there is available. 3 items are all that is needed to make this balloon candle!

The steps are straightforward and uncomplicated:

• Fill balloon with water (you heard right – water)

• Secure top of balloon

• Melt wax in double-boiler, electric skillet or sauce pan (be sure skillet or sauce pan is an old one)

• Keep temp somewhere near 165 to185 until wax is fully melted

• Let cool until almost firm

• Dunk water balloon into wax, pulling out quickly, letting layer of wax cool and set

• Repeat dipping and cooling process until you have approximately 1 cm thick of wax surrounding the balloon.

• Pop balloon and remove from center of candle

• Pour warm wax slowly inside your balloon shell candle, rolling wax constantly until the interior is full.

• On the last pour, position wick in center first, allowing the final warm wax to surround it.

• Wait for the wax to cool to support wick before you release it.

Beeswax Candle Making Recipes

A lot of people argue that it’s not a “beauty pagent,” it’s a “scholarship contest.” But really, I believe that the women who compete have grown up being told that they were georgeous and are just living that life. I have a little cousin who has competed in pagents all her life until recently. I mean she is beautiful and all, but like you said, there are many more beautiful girls in the world. When she finally stopped doing pagents she said she realized how superior doing them made her feel over others, but she realized that she really wasn’t. Also, look at the pagents now-a-days. They aren’t on CBS and NBC like they use to be, Miss America last night was on CMT. I think the interest has declined in them. It is true that if most girls took a bit of extra time to take good care of themselves and be proud of themselves, building self-confidence they will be more beautiful than most of the “beauty queens” out there.

You would do better to replace the existing glass with “non-reflective” (there is a type of glass which is virtually invisible, think it’s called “Denglass” or something like that, very good but not cheap).

You have a big problem. Unfortunately, unless you use resin compatible opaque inks, you will always have a bleeding problem. At this point if you sand your nose down again you will make it brittle and it could break off going through a wave. I fixed a similar cracked nose one time before I knew what I was doing and it broke off as I was paddling through a big wave, hitting me in the face. I think the best thing you can do now is just use regular enamel paint on the outside to cover the mess. It won’t look that bad, doesn’t weigh anything, and also won’t impact the strength you have now. Take a look at repair chapter in my online book for additional information or drop me a note.

I think you could buy a roll of vinyl, then cut out the picture you want with a stencil. Then spray a light adhesive on the back.

Unless your walls are very textured you should not have a problem. Even if they are you can use small amounts of spray adhesive to keep them attached but this makes it more difficult to remove later on. Personally, I would consider using paint to express your creativity.

In my opinion, I think you have a great idea..personally if I wanted something realistic…I’d take a color or black and white picture and frame it. Using a white matt and black frame…but if I wanted a painting….I’d make it impressionistic…with a lose feel to it…..I hope this helps you and good luck in your art. Its not harmful at all. But if you’re like me and you hate any small creature invading your space then you could always use a pest trap or spray. The spray is better coz you can spray it anywere without guests seeing it, unlike the trap.
