Quilts include the crib sizes, twin, and full, double fit, queen, and king. The standard crib fit is around 45-inches time’s 60. Twin fits are 72 x 90, full and the double are 81 x 96, queen fits are 90 x 108, and the king fits are around 120 x 120.

To choose your materials you must consider batting quilt fibers. Once you choose your batting make sure that, you unfold the cotton material and let it set a couple of days before you start crafting. The batting will relax and inflate. You want to space your batting closely to avoid bunching also when crafting your quilt. Some materials require pre-washes before you can use the fabric. Read your labels.

You have options in battings, including the traditional, which is often made of cotton and the polyesters. The blends of polyester and cotton will shrink sometimes. To stitch the cotton you will need to create intervals of larger stitches, yet if you combine polyester with your cotton, you can minimize the stitches.

The line of battings, include polyester, silk, wool, etc as well. If you choose the polyester, you can create a non-shrinking quilt with intervals of larger stitches. In addition, you can create intervals of wider expansions, which you can craft your quick at a speedier pace. Polyester is the choice of battings, since crafters can design a quick, machine washable, and non-shrinking quilt. As well, the crafter can design a thinner quilt verses the thicker, since polyester is a batting made of “high loft.”

My favorite is silk, yet if you are creating a traditional style quilt, the silk may not be suitable. You can still make a quilt of silk, yet you will pay top-dollar and spend a length of undesired time to finish your project. In fact, most crafters do not recommend silk for creating quilts.

Wool has migrating fibers, yet you can sew through the material with ease. You will need to space closely when needling. The wool over time will loose its fibers however. Wool will also fuzz. You can use lightweight materials, or cloths to prevent fuzziness, as well as to prevent fiber loss. Wool is not suitable for machine wash; rather you should take your quilt to a professional cleaner, or wash it by hand and allow it to air dry.

Now choose your style:

If you want the antique or traditional quilt, you will need to use the “low loft” material. The quilts include the Fairfield, which is 100% bleached cotton, the poly-filled cottons, which is 80 % cotton; the “Mountain Mist/Blue Ribbon Stearns” are 100% cotton as well. You can also choose the 100% polyester, Morning Glory, or the Glory BEE I, which is also 100% polyester. Many other styles and varieties are available.

Once you decide which fibers, or fabrics you want to craft your quilt you can then consider your backing. You can purchase yards of backing. The backing today makes it easy to fill in the length and width of your quilt. Ultimately, if you choose backings that come up short or longer you can stitch a couple of pieces together to even your quilt. Still, you want to make sure that the backings work in harmony with your fabrics, or fibers.

Ultimately, if you want to spend time making a quilt you can choose blocks and patches. The pieces of material were frequently used by grandmas, or women of traditional days. The quilts are often sturdier than the modern quilts, yet you can still craft a strong quilt today.

What is the difference between an organic mattress and mainstream mattresses?
Organic mattresses are derived from natural materials. Conventional mattresses are made primarily of man-made materials derived from nonrenewable resources such as natural gas and petrochemicals. What are the natural materials used in OMI organic mattresses?

Do organic mattresses come in different firmnesses, and do they have innersprings?
There are two main types of organic mattresses: Natural rubber, which is basically metal free, and innerspring. Both styles are available with different firmness options.

How is an OMI organic mattress made?
The inner core is made of either natural rubber latex or innersprings. The quilting consists of Eco-Wool and certified organic cotton battings, quilted between two layers of certified organic cotton fabric (ticking). The padding in our innerspring mattresses is simply certified organic cotton.

Where do the raw materials come from?
OMI is committed philosophically to the organic movement and to supporting American organic farmers. The Eco-Wool is sheared from free-grazed California sheep, and processed under strict controls to minimize any chemical contamination or animal cruelty.

The cotton is 100% certified organic. It is grown and processed without chemical pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or fertilizers. The natural rubber latex (from the milk of the rubber tree) is 100% natural, and produced by the only manufacturer of Talalay latex in America.

Why are these raw materials used in an organic mattress? Wool is warm in winter and cool in summer. It absorbs perspiration, which then evaporates, regulating the sleeper’s body temperature throughout the night for a more restful sleep. Wool is also resilient, durable, and flame resistant. What is the difference between natural rubber latex and the latex used in other mattresses? All latex is not created equal. Natural rubber latex is produced using an environmentally-friendly process from a natural renewable resource, and is biodegradable. For the millions of U.S. families who display artificial Christmas trees every holiday season, the same plaguing question must be answered every year: What do I do with this thing now that the holidays are over?  For most people, an artificial Christmas tree is the largest of all the holiday decorations that has to be stored.  Concurrently, it is also typically the most expensive item, as well.  With that in mind, the way that we store artificial trees is a topic that deserves some attention.  In this article, we will explain the right way-as well as some of the wrong ways-to store your artificial Christmas tree.

For many people, the easiest and most obvious choice for artificial tree storage is to simply put it back in its original box.  Unfortunately, this is often times easier said than done.  Trying to stuff an artificial Christmas tree back into its original box is a lot like buying a king size sheet set, removing it from its zippered pouch and completely unfolding it, and then later trying to get it back into the original packaging.  In short, it’s nearly impossible.  The other problem with storing your tree in its original box is that the cardboard does little to nothing to protect the tree from getting dusty and dirty.  Cardboard can also attract insects and vermin, and in the event that it gets wet, will quickly be destroyed.

Another potential option for artificial tree storage is to wrap the tree in plastic or sheets.  To some extent, this can be a good idea, though it does depend how your tree disassembles.  Most artificial trees on the market today feature hinged branches, meaning that each section can be compressed down to a fairly narrow diameter.  If this is the case, it may be possible for you to carefully wrap each section in a piece of plastic drop cloth or an old sheet, and tie with some string or twine.  However, if you have an older artificial tree with fixed branches that don’t compress, storing in a sheet probably won’t do much good.  At best, you’ll just be draping the sheet over the tree, and this doesn’t do much to keep out dust, moisture, or pests.

By far, the best options for artificial Christmas tree storage are to purchase a plastic bin or a bag that is specifically designed for that purpose.  Such products are readily available through discount stores, specialty catalogs, and online retail outlets.  Specifically, you should look for a bag with a zipper or a container with a tight fitting lid, to keep out dust and dirt.  Furthermore, if you have an especially large or heavy tree, it might also be a good idea to look for a storage container with wheels for easy mobility.

While a tree storage bag or bin isn’t free like the original box or the old sheet in your closet, they will do a far better job of protecting your tree and keeping it clean.  And doesn’t it make more sense to spend $50 or $100 on a good tree storage container that you’ll have forever, versus spending $300 or $400 on a new artificial Christmas tree every few years, because your old tree got wrecked in storage?  Good artificial tree storage may cost you something up front, but it will save you a lot of time, hassle, and replacement trees in the long run.

My day bed trundle pulled straight out from under the bed and then you pulled up and it had these scissor like hinges that moved the trundle bed mattress to the level of the day bed. Hi I just wanted to share some tips for choosing kids bedding.  You may be thinking I know nothing about buying children’s bedding.  Well it really is not that hard.  Here are some tips that will help.

1. Quality is important.  Be sure you are purchasing from a time tested, quality orientated company. 
2. Be sure to communicate with your kids. Find out what they like, and try to purchase things that will be pleasing to them.
3. Keep in mind the age of the child.  For instance, if they are teenagers they may not want baby, toddler, or kids bedding in their room.  Kids are under peer pressure, and you do not want to embarrass them with a good intention and a bad selection.
4. Select your theme.  This is what you and your child will decide is the subject for the room.  It should be something that your child has a passion for such as trucks, dinosaurs, flowers, bugs, astronauts or whatever.  Once you have decided on the theme it is easy to move on to the next step.  Color.
5. Everyone knows that color is important, do some research on this subject.  When looking to buy kids bedding, ask yourself this question, what colors will flow with the color scheme of my child’s room?  Go online and check out to see what is available.  Look at accessories as well as bedding.  This will be helpful when you move on to the next step which is actually picking the accessories.  Be color conscious.  If you select the wrong colors you could end up redoing the whole room. 
6. Most accessories are very colorful.  That is why accessories coordinate well with the kid’s bedding.  That is if the kid’s bedding, and accessories have the same theme.  You can purchase accessories in a wide range of items.  There are: clocks, wall borders, rugs, wall hangings (with different colored frames), pillows, growth charts, curtains and many more.
7. When purchasing online you can have the product shipped directly to the child.  This thrills them and gives them a feeling of belonging and importance.  It is free so take advantage of this opportunity.

Well that is it.  This is a formula that I have developed to help you come up with a way to get the room that you want for your kids.  It is a progression that will help get you from point A to point B and eventually end up where you want to go.  Select your theme then move on to color.  Once you decide on color, move on to accessories and end up selecting your kid’s bedding.  If you follow these steps, you will be on your way to setting up a great room for your kids.

A waterbed sheet that does not fit well can be prone to several problems that will make you feel that the money you just laid out for that new set of sheets was not very well spent.

Thread count is a very important determinant of the price of waterbed sheets. The size of the sheets you need is the other. Thread count is the measure of the number of threads per square inch of fabric. There is a big difference between 200 thread count fabric and 400 thread count material. The amount of material needed to make waterbed bedding set for a California king sized waterbed is almost twice that needed for a full sized waterbed.

Higher thread count sheets will feel thicker and tend to hold their shape longer. The tougher fabric holds the stitching more securely and I think they look better coming out of the laundry than less expensive sheets. One hundred percent cotton is still my fabric of choice with a thread count of at least 400. Cotton blend fabric, made from some combination of cotton and a synthetic thread like polyester can provide you with excellent durability and are a good value.

don’t dry clean it, wash it. if your washer is not big enough go to a laundramat and take a front loader washing machine. Put it in with less soap than normal about 1/2 cup and cool water. when done put in dryer or hang to dry. dry on lower heat for an hour. it works. i have never had a comforter cleaned in my 45 years of marriage. only washing them. the dryer makes them fluffier when you take them out. just make sure there are no tears in the comforter because you will end with feathers all over the machine. if there are any tears or holes, get them professionally repaired before washing.
