twin comforter fit on a twin xl bed?

getting ready to go to college…would prefer to have duvet cover but cant seem to find one that i like in the size twin xl..so just wondering if twin comforter would fit..i would buy twin xl sheets, just asking about comforter.

Help:: Orange Teen Bedding?

Hi, I am 13 years old {girl} looking to redo my room.
I am painting my walls orange.
I am looking for bedding (sheets, comforter or comforter cover, and/or pillow cases for a twin bed) in any of these color combinations:
~Orange and White
~Orange and Pink
~Orange, Pink, and Yellow
~Only Orange
It doesn’t have to be a teen or kids bedspread.

Will queen bedding fit a full sized bed?

However, the only options given are queen/king & I have a full sized bed. I’d prefer a queen sized comforter as opposed to a full anyway, so my primary concern is with the sheets. Also, I’m aware that sometimes comforter sets are listed as full/queen.

They will all fit, I prefer a larger comforter anyway.

Redecorating my bedroom.?

I’m doing a warm blue / chocolate brown colour scheme. I’m looking for a microsuede chocolate brown down comforter [king size]. Could anyone recommend a good brand of down comforter that offers different colours / fabrics? I’d like to have it with the quilting technique to avoid the feathers bunching up. I’d also prefer one that has minimal chance of feathers sticking out all over the place.

Try Land’s End or LLBean. Both do a lot of down products usually solid colors and have a lot a variety. They also make them very well. They hold up forever.

Duvet, how to I lay it out on the bed?

I just purchased a duvet set and down comforter. I was wondering how everyone makes their bed? Do you put the buttoned or zippered end at the head or the foot of the bed? Is there a proper way to do it?

Buttons or zipper are typically at the foot of the bed.

One tip I have found extremely useful over the years is to sew strips of ribbon (approx. 3 inches long) on the top inside corners of the duvet and on the comforter. This helps when putting the comforter in duvet.

Turn the duvet inside out and tie the top two corners to the comforter. Then turn the duvet back over the comforter and fluff. An added bonus is this keeps the comforter from shifting around in the duvet. Enjoy your new bedding!

allergy and down comforter?

I have bought a down comforter recently (the seasons collection ultimate luxury). it has 700 fill power, 760 thread count and the xtreme clean down they used is hypoallergenic. I bought it because i am allergic to a lot of materials and I need a high quality comforter. I have thought of buying a silk comforter but I cannot find it in the major department stores (macys, bedbathbeyond, target etc). I don’t want to purchase online because I want to feel and see the product. I went to a small store to check out a silk comforter. However, I do not trust the small store and the silk comforter they have does not come with a silk cover, but a cotton cover with 250 thread count (too few thead count). My question is whether I am making a correct decision to purchase this particular down comforter since I am allergic to a lot of stuff. If i am wrong, what kind of comforter I should buy and where to purchase it? what is the price range?

You have it right, seems like you do not have a lot of options but pick the best one. I wouldn’t go with the down comforter because of the allergies

What can I use to determine the quailty of a bed comforter before buying a new one? I want one that lasts.?

I’ve been searching for a new comforter set and I can’t determine if the comforter is of good quailty online. Does the price of it determine it or is there someway to know if it is a good one to where it will last a long time? I don’t want to wash it once and all the seems start coming out. check out where it is made, the type of material used and also check the seams, are there lots of threads or double sewing, or inconsistencies.
The item should probably be a cotton blend, if you want something washable with part being synthetic about 70%cotton/30% synthetic.
the batting inside the quilt should not be clumpy, it should be smooth and probably there will be sections sewed by machine.
loook for soemthing mid range, certainly not the cheapest or the most expensive brand name..
a good comforter should be fluffy and soft, but not flimsy….

My room is sky blue, what comforter should I use?

I have had difficulty finding a nice, colorful comforter that would look good with my sly blue room. My floor is new and its that fake wood stuff, and I also want a colorful rug on the floor. A lot of my stuff is very colorful and bold, so I want a comforter that it similar or that would compliment it.

Down comforters?

I have a down comforter and it needs to be washed. I read on the tag “Dry Clean Recommended” but does that mean I have to dry clean it? or can I just wash it on delicate in my home wash machine? Any suggestions?

I would recommend dry clean if the label says so, it could damage the feathers and may not be as poofy. BUT, here is a link on cleaning duvets.

If I were to put a Full size comforter on a Twin bed would there be a noticeable difference?

I have found the perfect comforter for a twin size bed, but I can only find it at a T.J. Maxx in a Full/Queen size comforter. Would it look horribly awkward on a twin size bed?

I think it would be just fine. Actually it is the way that I buy comforters for my bed. I have a queen size bed and I always purchase a King size comforter so it hangs over the sides a bit.
The full/queen size comforter will be about the same length, but the width will be about 15 inches wider, giving you about 7 inches or so over hang on each side. Should be just fine. I attached a sizing chart for your reference below.

The next thing to consider when looking for down comforters is the thread count on the outer materials. As with many types of bedding, the higher the thread count, the higher quality of down bed comforters you will get. A higher thread count is often considered the most luxurious as it is the softest and keeps the down from pricking. Also, the fill power should be considered. As with the thread count, the higher the fill power, the better the quality is of the down comforters. 550 fill power and higher are considered a luxury item.

The last thing you will need to do before purchasing your down bed comforters is read the labels. Reading the labels on any down comforter will let you know what the filler consists of, how high the price and quality is, and what may be needed to clean the comforter. One thing you may read on the down comforters label is how much residue is in the filler, not to worry though; residue can be a good thing. Residues can actually help enhance goose down. Also, reading the label will tell if there will be any odors with the filler, specifically from duck down, and allow you to estimate how long the down comforters will last. It is important to get all the information before you purchase any type of comforter, as some of them can be expensive.

Down comforters can be what keeps you warm in the winter. Down bed comforters can add that little piece of luxury to your bedroom. As with anything, these comforters can range in quality and price, so it is best to research them as thoroughly as possible before purchasing one.

You can definitally use a twin comforter on the daybed… the problem with using a twin sized bedskirt is for twin size, the head of the bed has no ruffle, so it would look kinds silly for the daybed to have no ruffle on one side. they make specific bedskirts for daybeds where the part that has no ruffle is on the “backrest” of the bed. you know, the part that sits up against the wall.

First of all you need to be realistic…do you like a room where you can relax or a room that reflect your personality. Too much pattern in the bedroom can be restless and not ideal for relaxing. You can use, polka dots/stripes as an accent only but it should not over-power your space. Be sure that your choice of color is something you can live with.

Would this comforter be machine washable?

I am looking for a new bedding set that is machine washable instead of dry clean only. I found this on amazon and I really like it but I’m not sure the comforter would be machine washable or not. Yes, you should be able to machine wash that comforter. I machine wash all my comforters with no problem.

The trick is to use the Cold or Warm water setting (NOT the hot water setting) and to air dry it (NOT machine dry it). I air dry my comforters by draping them over a coat tree. If you dry it in the dryer, your new comforter will fade.

Also, don’t use chlorine bleach or you will get bleach marks. Non-chlorine bleach is ok. (And, of course, regular laundry detergent is ok.)

I’ve been washing my comforters this way for years and they still look great.

Why are they making bed comforters to big…?

To fit into a normal size washer and dryer? I bought a new comforter set went to wash it and it won’t fit in my washer! Anybody else have this problem.
I guess I’m off to the laundry mat – grrrrr.

I take ours to the dry cleaners. Try it once and see if you are happy with the results. It’s not going to put wear and tear on the fabric like washing it and it’ll look newer longer as a result.

It’s usually easiest to try to find anything for an XL Twin bed at the beginning of the Back to School season. Most people only buy XL Twin bedding for college dorms. Stores do not make enough money off of them (other than during back to school) to justify keeping them on supply at all times.

How much should I sell homemade blanket and pillow sets for?

I make kids pillow and blanket sets for family members and was thinking about selling them for extra money. They are big enough for a baby or child up to about six and they are any character kids would want. Material on one side is flannel or comforter type material and the other side is satin material. The pillows are any where from baby size up to full size. Make great gifts for kids to keep. My question is, if I were to sell them, what should I charge for them that would be reasonable. Depending on the pattern on the blanket, usually costs me about $12-$15 to make the sets, sometimes more if the blanket is for a taller child which I can do as well. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Depends on what you want to do to the room… do you want it girly? Or would you want more classy chic look? Do you like it to feel darker or lighter?

My kitten had a toy under it and bit a few holes in it trying to get it out, which is totally my fault for making the bed with a cat toy in it! But I love the comforter and want to replace it.
