A dinosaur bedroom theme is a very popular bedroom design for a boys room. Colorful dinosaurs romping through a tropical jungle can excite a young child’s curiosity. The allure of archeological dinosaru digs, paleontology, dinosaur fossils and the ferocious T-Rex often appeal to the older crew.
You sould start with the Walls of the dinosaur dedroom theme or infant nursery.

Dinosaurs are loved among younger boys, and they offer a lot of opportunity for creativity to make their room special.
Another added advantage of doing a room in a dinosaur theme is that it offers him a chance to learn more about these interesting creatures.

Take a few moments to consider exactly what kind of room you’d like to do. You could perhaps re-create an entire jungle scene complete with dinosaurs of every kind, or you could build a desert habitat. It’s important to let your child help research which dinosaurs would be in each climate and try to decorate the bedroom accordingly. If he’s crazy about one particular type of dinosaur, like the ever popular Tyrannosaurus Rex, concentrate on that creature in particular.

There are so many options that parents can take when decorating a child’s bedroom or nursery in a dinosaur theme, dinosaur wallpaper options can be found all over the Internet.
Parents might also consider the more affordable coat of paint for their dinosaur bedroom project. Color choices can range from sand colored tans two suit the pudding paleontologists to a vibrant green of the jungle foliage. You’ve got a lot of the same options with dinosaur bedding that you do with dinosaur window treatments. You should easily be able to find sheet sets printed with dinosaurs fairly easily. Simply do a Google search for, “dinosaur bedding”. If you’re looking for something a little more creative, or something that ties into your color scheme a little better you may want to consider some of these options: Get plain sheets and a comforter or blanket in your colors of choice. For example, in the jungle room, you might try brown sheets with a green comforter.

Your child will simply love his or her dinosaur bedroom theme, and will roar like a gaint T-Rex and more than likely destroy the bedroom just like one.

i was running up the stairs and i got the wallpaper stuck under my nail as i ran past it….?

Large wall sticker – they show / sell them on tv…. you can have it of your favorite sports star or something?

in the commercial it shows a woman gets a large tank sticker/decal and the dad gets a football player… kid gets a tennis player… ect… it’s a tv commercial for a company/website that sells these and you can go and order one…of a variety of people, stars, or objects… they are these huge wall sticker/decal things… i can’t remember the site.. anyone know what it is??

Trying to remember the name of a kids “mystery” TV program?

I’m not sure if it was a UK programme, but I saw in the in the UK while growing up. I remember the intro credits panned across a cave wall lit by torch light (which may have had hieroglyphic or other symbols on it).

The main premise was of a curiosity shop that was full of antiquities and I think there was a girl who lived/worked there and each episode was a new mystery – usually involving a different artifact from the shop. For example, in one episode, I think there was an important clue on a label/sticker on the back of a painting that had been on the wall. Most of the show takes place within the “set” of the shop, I think.

It’s silly, but the most distinct thing I remember is that the shop phone was either a Pepsi or a Cola can-style phone!?

I don’t remember there being many episodes, which may be why I’m finding it hard to track down.

I really hope this rings someone’s bells coz I’ve been wanting to find out the name of this show for years!

What do I need to make vinyl wall decals/stickers?

I want to make and sell these for walls, skateboards, furniture- anything it will stick to. What kind of printer should I get that prints and die-cuts vinyl? Where do I find a decent one and how much do they cost on average?

This isn’t a new idea, I’m not stealing it- lots of people are selling them, including Urban Outfitters

I think you could buy a roll of vinyl, then cut out the picture you want with a stencil. Then spray a light adhesive on the back.

Or, you could just buy these ones from etsy. I don’t know how the original artist would feel about you copying her. Perhaps change the designs around a bit so its your own.

Where can I buy the flower wall stickers on page 9 of John Lewis Nursery and Junior Home catalogue?

They look like plastic foam (i.e. thicker than just paper stickers) and are different bright colours of cut-out flowers.
John Lewis don’t sell them!
And John Lewis can’t tell me where they got them!

I’m guessing they are on a picture and not for sale or the answer would be JohnLewis.

How can you store stickers (wall stickers that are still sticky!) so they can be reused?

We’re moving to a new home in a couple weeks, and when we removed the wall stickers from my son’s room, we discovered they were still stick! We threw out the original backing months ago, but is there anything we can store the stickers on so that we can reuse them? Aluminum foil maybe?

Waxed paper, or parchment paper would be better, once you have them on any “waxed” paper, place the stickers between the pages of a book. It will keep them flat.

help with painting ideas for teen hang out room?

We are redecorating our kids playroom and need some ideas. We have 4 boys, 14, 14, 12 and 9. They all love skateboarding and baseball. We even built them a half pipe in the backyard for skating.

I was thinking of doing the walls white with red trim and then doing some type of cool pattern in black on the bottom half of the wall such as black stripes or black designs Or maybe writing in bubble letters across the bottom “Skate” or something.

I don’t want to do tons of graffiti that will make the room look messy or dirty.

Any specific ideas? I got some cool skateboarding posters and decals for the walls.

Removable Wall Decals

Turn traditional wallpaper into removable wallpaper?

I’ve seen wall decals and even borders that are “removable & reusable.”

I’ve found a border that’s perfect for my nursery, but of course it’s a traditional paste border, and I prefer not to do anything “permanent” to the walls since the room will no longer be a nursery within two years.

Does anyone know of a way to hang traditional wallpaper so that it’s removable, even if not reusable?

NOTE: Before anyone says, “All wallpaper is removable!” I’m thinking more along the lines of static-cling on a window.

If it’s only a border (not wallpaper) just get a smaller “removable” border and some wallpaper paste.

Say your “permanent” border is 5″ wide; get a 4″ removable border and paste it to the back of your 5″ border with wallpaper paste.

Make sure that you paste it on the side closest to the ceiling (assuming you’re hanging it at the top of your wall). You can leave an inch or so hanging loose on the bottom of your border; it shouldn’t roll or peel unless you have very high heat and humidity.

how do i decorate my baby’s room’s walls without using any paint?

hi..im a stay at home mom since i got pregnant…im bout 7 months now…i was wondering if anyyone could tell me what should i do with the walls..i was hoping to put murals or wall stickers that i could take out once the baby grows out of it or when we have to move…any suggestions where i could find them?

Walmart, Target, Lowes and Home Depot, Every year we re decorate my son’s room. We live in an apartment so we use those stickers. They are REALLY nice, they come off no problem leaving no marks, so if you change the theme its easy as pie. Lowes has some REALLY cute ones! Blues Clues, Diego, Dora, Winnie the Pooh, and more. Currently we are in the Disney Pixar Cars theme, so until next year I won’t be shopping, however this year I found my decoration at Target, until now I wasn’t aware they sold them as well. Ideas instead of wallpaper border?

We have chosen the “Jungle Animals” theme for our nursery. The crib set with the jungle animals theme is mostly light green and yellow with the jungle animals I’d like the walls to be a pale yellow, but I’m not crazy about wallpaper border. What else can I do to carry the theme around the room? Is wallpaper border the best choice in this case? I already bought some of those wall stickers in jungle animal theme to put on the walls around the room (like above the crib). Any other ideas? If you think the wallpaper is a good idea…should it go at the top near the ceiling or around the middle?

Making wall stickers?

I want to redecorate my little girl’s room. She is monkey mad and I want to do a monkey theme. I have been looking on line for monkey wall stickers and they are quite expensive. Does anyone know who can transfer a picture into a wallie (one of those decals that peels off the wall)?

Kid is going off to college, and I thought it would be nice to surprise him with a life-size picture of his dog (he won’t miss Mom and Dad as much as the pooch). If I can get a photo transferred to a wallie, he could put it on the wall of his dorm room and then just peel it off when he leaves without causing any damage. Do you know if any companies will do this?

I have no idea, but Kinkos can do just about everything with an image. Maybe they have the removable stuff.

How can I create a really nice nursery on a budget?

I just found out I am having a boy so now I am ready to start shoping for decor. The problem is we are on a budget. I don’t want to exhaust all the money I’ve set aside on one thing. Most of the bedding sets I’ve seen are around $150 to $200. I had no idea they would cost as much as my comforter set!

I bought a crib, changing table, and chest combo at Wal-Mart for a really good price. It got rave reviews online. At first I thought it would look cheap and probably be made cheaply since it was from Wal-Mart, but the reviews state otherwise.

We either want to do Noah’s Ark or a Safari Theme. But all the accessories, wall stickers, garbage pails, diaper hanger, mobile, etc. are so expensive once you add everything up. I priced this one set online last night and it came up to almost $500.

Help!

DIY projects will save you tons of money. Do you sew? If not, do you know anyone who does?
Are you having a shower? Instead of gifts others choose for you, why not see if your friends/family will help you complete your nursery for a shower gift? You can arrange all the colours, material for bedding. Stencil the animals on the wall..cover the lamp shade to match, or decoupage an animal on the lamp base. It is amazing how much fun it can be for people to get together and help out decorating. If one of your friends/relative cannot do any of the work, no problem..one can make lunch, or take pictures for a scrapbook. Run the idea by your close friend or Mom and see what they think…or you can do this yourself..no matter which way, take pics all along…great memory book to pass on.

starch AND glue actually.. i did something similar myself. go by a kitten litter box or something of similar size and put much starch into it and mix with white glue or clear paste (i used elmers white school glue) and dip. they take forever to dry so i recommmend putting them under something that won’t stick.. or hang where there is NO wind. then respray with starch hair spray and spray on apolstry glue.

Removable Wall Stickers

How can I get my wall stickers ?

I bought a pack of Nouvelles Images Home Stickers for my wall in my apartment. They are removable and won’t damage walls, that is why I bought them. However, they don’t seem to be sticky enough because they are already falling off. What is an affective way to get these stickers to stay up without ruining my walls? They look so cute and I don’t want to take them down.

Well, I checked out their Website and unfortunately, they don’t have a trouble-shooting section, nor do they say what their wall stickers are made of, but I’ll try and help anyway.

1. Did you wash the wall you put them on first? If you didn’t and there is any grease and grime, this could be causing the problem, especially if you put them on a wall in the kitchen or bathroom. If this is the case, simply remove the stickers and wash the wall with liquid TSP. Don’t use the powder formula, as it’s hard to mix and is toxic. Plus you’ll have to rinse it off before you can do anthing else. TSP will remove all grease and grime. You’ll find it at any home hardware store and it’s relatively inexpensive. Once you’ve followed the manufacturer’s directions, let it dry completely and try to replace the stickers. However, if there is grease and grime from the wall that has adhered to the stickers, you may find you have the same problem. If this is the case, wash the backs of the stickers. I know this might not help them to stick after (and I have a solution below if that happens), but they aren’t sticking anyway, so you have nothing to lose, right?

Once you’ve cleaned both wall and stickers, use 3M scotch vellum adhesive. By spraying only the back of the stickers and not spraying the wall too, the adhesive remains repositionable. Position them on the wall and there you have it – sticking wall stickers! You can reuse this spray when needed and it won’t ruin the walls:

How can I recreate the WWE wrestling ropes in my sons room?

My 6 year old is a HUGE WWE fan and wants his whole room done up like the ring. I can’t figure out a way to paint the ropes on his wall without it looking like plain old stripes. I have been searching for decals or wall stickers or even some kind of stencil without any luck. I am open to any ideas!

Why don’t you use real rope? You can attach(large screws–talk to someone who has done some inside construction) corner posts in the corners of the room and have the ropes attached to them an have them lay against the wall. You can paint a impressionistic crowd in the background..on the walls.

my almost 2 1/2 year old son is ready to potty train, but very stuborn. i need someone to answer this that has had success with the same situation. i’ve tried rewards, he loves stickers so i put a poster on the bathroom wall for stickers, but he got bored with that after 2 days. i don’t want to bribe with candies because he already eats enough as it is. he has an older brother so he gets hand me downs so i don’t want to be buying new underwear every week. i think i’ve tried everything, but maybe somebody might have a suggestion.

Boys are more difficult than girls to train.
Be persistent.
If it doesn’t bother your older child or their father, put a potty in the bathroom and when the others go, make the baby go too. Maybe then he’ll see that everybody goes, so he HAS to go too!

I did this with my munchkin & he caught on better this way than making him go alone.

Vynal or canvas wall sticker?

Okay, so I am going to buy a wall mural to cover my whole wall, which is about 8ft by 12ft and the choices for which material they give you is vynal or canvas. I don’t have much experience with which one looks better or lasts longer (my mom is an architect so I’m not putting it up by myself, haha, that would be a disaster) so what are the pros and cons of both?

Vinyl in like a plastic coating, canvas is more fabric. I’m sure there are different ways of hanging it; the paste. I’d read more about it and ask some questions. Here are four reasons that vinyl lettering for home decor is a fast growing trend:

Vinyl Lettering is Inexpensive

When compared to hand-painted stencils to put words on walls, vinyl lettering is a lot less expensive for several reasons. First of all, time. You’ve heard the saying “time is money.” Well, if that’s truly the case, then vinyl lettering offers significant savings just in the time you save over having to hand paint your walls. Unlike paint, vinyl lettering can be removed anytime you’d like without damaging your painted walls. If you want to keep it forever, go ahead. If properly installed it won’t come off until you remove it.

Displaying vinyl album art?

I’m a novice record collector… as in, I recently purchased one and decided I want to get more, hahah. I have the Beatles’ album “Hey Jude”, which, as far as I know, is actually the only one never to be released in CD format. Interesting, huh?

Well, my mom recently sent me a frame so I can hang the art on the wall – it’s in ridiculously good condition for how old it is. I’d love to display the album cover, but my question is, what do I do with the record inside? I’m going to buy a record player with my roommate soon, and I’d love to be able to play the music – to me, music just sounds so much better on vinyl than on disc or via the computer.

So, album art collectors: if you choose to put your art on display in frames, what do you do with the records so they are still readily available to be listened to? Let me know!

where to get clear removeable wall decals?

at my daughters daycare, they have some kind of clear laminate sheets that they use to put kids artwork or photos etc on the wall, then apply these laminates … i think they can then remove the photos or artwork from the wall without damaging the wall paint / wallpaper. (i assume the laminate still sticks to the artwork or photo though). anyone know where I can buy these? i would love to apply some of these to her room with photos of family, but be able to remove them later if we rearrange the room. I’d rather not hang frames of photos, or just pin or stick them up, since she’s young.

How do I put a train set on the border of my child’s wall?

My son is almost 2 and he is really getting into thomas the train. I wanted to decorate his room with trains but I wanted to put a real train set on the top border of his wall. How do I do this? I’ve always admired those cool wall stickers that people make. Where do you get them printed at? I can design well in Illustrator but does anyone know the next step?

To make custom vinyl stickers, you have to have a vinyl cutter first. It will come with a cutter program that will plot and cut all of the vinyl. You buy rolls of vinyl to feed through the machine. The machine is really expensive so if you don’t want to buy one I suggest you try calling a screen printing/graphics shop or a custom car shop.

The really tricky part is the re-positional part. Most ink jet sticker paper is for one time use and meant to stay-put. As for inkjet, you know it runs badly when dampened. I often spray ink jet printed labels with clear matte spray from the paint dept. Quick dry like Krylon works best.
