I need help on what colors to paint my walls in my living room?

My couches are a cranberry-ish color and are of the “Over stuffed” type. My coffee table is a big ottoman cover in the aged leather (Dark chocolate)that you usually see on a mans “smoking chair” in a library. I have a brick fireplace with a rought iron screen. I need to know what color to paint the walls, what color curtains, and what color accents pieces. I was thinking a dark brow curtains, maybe a mocha wall and amber colored accent pieces. Like a nice dark amber colored glass candle holders and bowls. ANY IDEAS!?!?

I think you color choices are good, I’d make the mocha color a bit lighter, with all those bold dark colors you could end up with them competing for attention and you could end up making a room look smaller than it really is, espeically if you don’t have a lot of big windows for natural light. You could also through in some cranberry accents in the form of throw pillows/blankets or candles in you candle holders. Make sure the fabric of of your curtains matches the fabric of you other furniture in style. I.E. don’t sheer light curtains if all the fabric is heavier, it will look out of place.

Also, never, ever trust the light in a paint store! It will look completely different in the light in your home than at the store! Take some sample home, cut them up and tape them on the wall and put them near your couch, chair, carpet/floor etc. Some paint companies offer inexpensive 2 oz samples in thier most popular colors. You can paint a 2×2 section with that and really see what it will look like. I’ve had many guests in my paint department who were so grateful for that because they loved the color in the store and hated it on the wall. 3 bucks for a sample verses 20 plus dollars for a gallon of paint you hate is a big difference. And most places won’t take back mixed paint.
